Portugal Street is situated in Holborn in Central London that borders the City of Westminster, London Borough of Camden and the City of London. It's where the Peacock Theater of London School of Economics and Political Science is located. The nearest train station in Portugal Street is the Holborn Tube Station, an underground station located at the junction of High Holborn and Kingsway.

Holborn became a site for new offices and hotels including Pearl Assurance building, The Waldorf Hilton and Kingsway Hall Hotel. Entertainment clubs also filled the area, including Aldwych Theatre, New London Theatre, Shaftesbury Theatre, Cambridge Theatre, Ambassadors Theatre, Noel Coward Theatre and London Coliseum and Savoy Theater. It is also used for plays, dance performances, ballet, pop concerts and award ceremonies. It has 36 feet tall stage. It has become an integral part of the history of Sadler's Wells Theatre.
